Olympiaregion Seefeld …. a walking paradise
Hardly any other summer holiday activity is as popular as walking – and rightly so: good footwear and functional clothing are all you need to get out into the fabulous countryside and enjoy all the new experiences and impressions each new day can bring.
The Olympiaregion’s unique location alone makes it a Mecca for hiking enthusiasts. Nestling among the mountains of the Wetterstein range, the Alpenpark Karwendel nature reserve and the Wildmoos landscape conservation area, the south-facing high plateau is the ideal “base camp” for mountain enthusiasts or for those who are aspiring to become one. Over 650 kilometres of signposted walking and hiking trails covering all ranges of difficulty, and more than 60 Alpine huts and lodges offering food and drink, form the “hardware” for an unforgettable true taste of nature.
The range of hikes on offer is huge encompassing family walks in the Gaistal Valley’s “Pasture Paradise”, the new, spectacular Leutasch Spirit Gorge, the Wildmoos landscape conservation area, stunning summit climbs, for example up to the Hohe Munde or the Seefelder Spitze or the Reither Spitze and multi-day hikes in the Alpenpark Karwendel. Via ferratas and rock climbing routes allow Alpine enthusiasts to experience the mountains in a different way. Those who place importance on safety and who want to increase their knowledge during hikes can place themselves in the experienced hands of the local mountain guides and hiking instructors.
